House Update

I haven't done a house update in a month (clearly I am totally meant to be a professional blogger influencer- is that what they are called??) I wanted to post some of the pictures of the progress over the last month. Every day now, there is a visible difference (as opposed to electrical and what not) so it is getting really fun! (Assuming they finish it before Christmas.) Just kidding, we have a move in date set for September 20th. Fingers crossed that actually happens. WE ARE READY.

Here we go!

Kitchen cabinets were installed!

This is our breakfast area.

Tara and I went on a shopping trip to chose the counter tops. What a fun day! (and thank goodness for Tara because y'all, the girl has skills.)

The beginning of creating the ceilings in the dining room.

This is going to be the floor in our mudroom and utility room. I'm excited and a little nervous about this, but I am sure it will turn out amazing (because. Tara.)

Kitchen backsplash!

This little nugget woke up super early one morning and joined me on my morning run to the new house. He was just so darling walking around in his footie pjs, snuggling his "bear bear."

The. BEST. Cheese face.

The game room ceiling.

Posing in Emma's "reading nook."

Our master floor.

Our master bath cabinets. They are stained a grayish color.

Ceiling beams stained.

Game room beams stained.

Better picture of the master cabinets' stain color.

Doors from dining room to exterior.

Up next: paint and hardware. We have finally decided on interior and exterior paint colors. Stay tuned! ;)

Sheetrock!

…and 3 months later, sheetrock went in! Building a house is a slooooow process. I can't even tell you exactly what has happened the last 3 months. It was something like plumbing, electric, permits, repeat? Anyway, we are finally moving forward. Again. The sheetrock went in and what a difference it has made. Here are a few recent pictures.

This is either Harvey's room or Luke's room.

Guest room. You can't tell here, but our guest room is pretty great.
You have to step up a few steps to this room and there is a huge tree out the window.
Brian and I refer to it as the treehouse. ;)

This week, we finalized our trim and ordered our tile and backsplash (we had to wait for sheetrock to go in for accurate measurements). In the next few days, I am headed to Sherwin Williams to get paint samples and next week, Tara and I are headed to choose our counter slabs.

This is the trim we chose to go around our door frames.

Meanwhile, we have had a busy summer over here! Emma just wrapped up her first season on the swim team. She is a little fish! We are so proud of her hard work and bravery.

We took the kids to their first Roughriders/baseball game! They loved it and we decided this was the perfect baseball venue for their ages. They even got to run the bases at the end. :)

We went to Rosemary Beach with some good friends. Here are only a few of the 4,000 pictures I took.

Luke turned FOUR while we were at the beach. We celebrated his birthday with a Lightening McQueen beach party at his request. This year he asked for a Sea Patroller (paw patrol toy), a Paw Patrol boat and a Lightening McQueen beach towel. He also loves his lego set and shark blanket from Jack and Lila. ;)

We came home and only a few days later celebrated the Fourth of July with our annual neighborhood parade, swimming at the pool, and some illegal fireworks in the backyard with daddy.

Last weekend, we went to Lake Murray, OK with my dad's side of the family for our annual "Thornton Family Fiasco." Emma and Luke loved on their sweet Great Gran T the whole weekend!

Whew. I can't believe we are only 6 weeks away from Emma starting kindergarten!!! Where is the time going?! We still have a few things to check off our bucket list this summer!!

Lexi

House Update and Life Lately

Hi everyone! The last few weeks our house has really been coming along! Tomorrow, they are adding the shingles to the roof and then our contractor estimates about 3 months before completion. I feel like this is where the fun part really begins, because all the cute stuff is going in! I went shopping with our designer today and we pretty much finished up with her (just in the nick of time because she is 37 weeks pregnant!) Here are a few recent pics of the house along with some Furlong adventures. :)

To the left is the kitchen and breakfast area. The stairs lead to the game room and guest room.

Roof is on and the eaves were just added.

We chose this stone today to go on the exterior and the living room fire place.
Luke started soccer! He loves it! He is doing soccer through the YMCA. It is a small fry program so it consists of 3 practices and 2 games. It's the perfect amount of time to really see if any interest is there before committing to a season. (Emma lasted 4/5 days, haha!)
Emma and Luke ready for their Easter parties and egg hunts at school!
Meanwhile, Harvey was ready for his first hair cut. I put this outfit on him and he immediately had to go get his club and he brought it everywhere that day. Pretty sure he thought he had a golf tourney to attend.

Showing off his new do, plus his lolly. ;)
We celebrated Easter with some of our sweet neighborhood friends.
Love these friends! (and their mamas!)
Easter Egg hunt at the club. This was my favorite with Harvey smiling up at his big brother.
